Technical Decisions

There are no "one-way door" decisions in the following decisions below. They are all "two-way door" decision that can be reversed and adjusted. Over time, momentum and inertia will determine what needs to be adjusted.

Credential Format

  • JWT and SD-JWT

Trusted Channel

Considered:

  • TSP

  • DIDComm <-- DECISION

DECISION: DIDComm 2.1 NOTE: OID4VP supported in that the Ayra Card credential support OID4VP presentations. However, OID4VP implementation will not have the DID-based communication channels needed for all interactions.

Assurance Levels

DID Method

Considered:

  • did:web

  • did:webs

  • did:webvh <-- DECISION

DECISION: did:webvh method is default. Other DID Methods (e.g. did:cheqd) can be supported with community alignment.

Revocation & Expiry

Considered:

  • Revocation

  • Expiry

  • Expiry & Renewal <-- DECISION

DECISION: Expiry & Renewal will be used as the base capability. Individual Ayra Card implementations may implement a revocation method which must be aligned across that
